Weekly Trash Collection
Republic Services provides residential trash collection in Toledo and takes place once each week. All household trash should be bagged and placed inside your gray refuse cart with the lid fully closed.
To help ensure collection, place your cart at the curb the evening before your scheduled pickup or before collection begins on your pickup day. Once your trash has been collected, remember to bring your cart back in as soon as possible to help keep neighborhoods looking clean and organized.
Recycling Pickup
Toledo also provides curbside recycling service every other week using the city’s blue recycling carts.
Before placing items in your recycling bin, make sure they’re empty and free of food residue whenever possible. Flattening cardboard boxes can also help maximize space inside your cart and make room for more recyclable materials.
Bulk Pickup
Need to get rid of furniture, a mattress, or another oversized household item?
Toledo residents can place up to five bulk items at the curb on their regular trash collection day without scheduling a separate pickup. Each item or bundle must weigh less than 40 pounds, and certain items, such as mattresses, should be wrapped before collection.
